This introductory course teaches traditional Usui Reiki in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and is held over two consecutive days during which you will receive four Attunements (two each day).  You just need to come with good intentions about understanding the natural healing elements that Reiki brings and by the end of the course you will have had a very special experience and be ready to start your Reiki journey.  For some the course experience can be quite profound, for others it's simply a wonderful couple of days but for everyone, it’s time spent laughing and sharing experiences whilst learning and developing with like-minded people.

 

The Attunements are focused mainly on opening up the physical body so it can accept and channel greater quantities of life force energy. The 1st three Attunements are necessary to open the body gradually and gently – which is one of the reasons why the course is held over two days - and also start to work on bringing you into balance. The fourth Attunement seals the energy channel open so that you can maintain your accelerated ability to channel the energy for the rest of your life.

Once you have been attuned to Reiki energy, you never lose it. Even if you don’t use it for several years, the moment you decide to use the energy and use your intent to do so, the energy flow will be there for you. 

1st Degree Reiki training is all about experiencing the Reiki energy and feeling the energy moving and flowing through the body, using the energy for your own self-healing and giving treatments to friends and family.

​You will be told about the history of Reiki and, on a practical level, you will be taught how to do both self-healing and how to give a treatment to others. This part of the course assists in the integration of the energy and gives you the initial tools to be able to work on yourself, friends, family and your pets.

For the first four weeks after your training, you will be asked to give yourself an hourly treatment each day. This process is important for two reasons:

​

1.    It continues the integration of the Reiki energy into your body

2.    During the first three to four weeks following your Attunements your body will be adjusting to the energy and releasing any denser energy that is no longer serving you.

​

The daily treatments assist you to move through this process with greater ease.

 

You may wish to progress to your Level 2 qualification which increases the energy flow even more.  Level 2 will, if you wish, allow you to become a Reiki Practitioner which means that if you would like to, with the appropriate insurance, you can then give chargeable treatments.  Although there is no maximum time limit, a minimum of a six months period is required between 1st Degree and 2nd Degree Reiki training. This is to allow the body to adjust to the fine tuning that occurs in the initiation, which can result in inner cleansing, which can be on a physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual level or even all of these!  As mentioned above, after taking your 1st Degree, the Reiki starts working on bringing things into balance and this can involve getting rid of things that no longer serve your best interests.  If you hold illness or many personnel issues, the six months waiting period allows your body to adjust to the physical and emotional changes because these can often be quite profound and dramatic and you may find that you start looking at various aspects of your life and working out what it is you really want. As each individual is different, you may or may not have a strong reaction.

Around four/five weeks after taking your Reiki Level 1 degree, I arrange an evening for you and your other course graduates to get together for a Reiki share and also receive a fifth 'top up attunement' which, as it name suggests, tops up the Reiki energy.  This get together also allows you to chat to me about your progress and raise any questions or issues you may currently have and if you wish, also share your own experiences with your group.

In addition, you will also be eligible to attend my Reiki Shares and Meditation events which is an opportunity to get together to both give and receive Reiki and share experiences

On completion of the course you will receive a certificate, manual, gifts and a link to my private students page which has lots of information, including the self healing recording and other music downloads.  All this information supports your learning and you will have all the tools you need to start your reiki healing journey.  I am also always available to give ongoing support.
